Please join us on Saturday, November 20 from 10a.m. to 4p.m. for our annual Heritage Day Festival at the Clermont Historic Village, located at 490 West Ave, in downtown Clermont.
There, guests will have the opportunity to go on a guided tour of all the museums by docents in period costumes for a $5 donation per adult 12 and over, plus try their hands at rug beating, doing laundry with a washboard, then hanging it to dry on a clothes line, and making wooden hand tools. There will also be fun activities to enjoy with your children like making fans and bracelets, temporary tattoos and playing games like hopscotch, jump rope, hula hoops, and others kids played 100 years ago.
If that’s not enough, there will be Tin Lizzies on display with their owners available to answer questions., plus demonstrations of butter churning, ice cream making, rope making and whip cracking.
Your children will also have the opportunity to read to Toby the dog from Read to Sydney from 10a.m. to 12p.m. and for YouTube fans, Captain A TV’s Captain A and Captain SySy, in WWII attire, will be available for pictures in the Quonset Hut/WWII Museum.
A lunch combo including chicken sandwiches from PDQ, cookies from Chick-fil-A and more will be available for purchase for only $6.00.  Chances to win a gas grill (donated by Lowe’s of Clermont) and gift baskets will also be available at $1.00 and 6 for $5.00.
